SAN FRANCISCO, November 3, 2021: Morgan Lewis has been named to the 2021 ChIPs Honor Roll for the firm’s support of and transparency around inclusion initiatives both firmwide and within the intellectual property (IP) practice area. ChIPs is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing and connecting women in technology, law, and policy.
Awardees were determined by the Inclusion Blueprint, a collaborative project between ChIPs and Diversity Lab, an incubator for innovative ideas and solutions that boost diversity and inclusion in law, which measures inclusion activities at both the leadership and practice group level. Morgan Lewis was one of 41 firms to meet eligibility criteria, and one of only seven to earn the distinction for the firm’s IP practice.
Along with surveying inclusion efforts related to women lawyers and the measuring of lawyer experiences—including work allocation, sponsorship, parental leave, and advancement opportunities—this year’s Inclusion Blueprint also assessed actions related to underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, lawyers with disabilities, and those who identify as LGBTQ+. In addition, eligible awardees were required to commit to at least one of the Inclusion Blueprint’s “Do Something Hard” actions.
“Making sure that everyone on our team has equal access to opportunities and advancement are top priorities for our firm,” Firm Chair Jami McKeon said. “We are grateful to ChIPs for recognizing our efforts, and look forward to continuing to work with their and Diversity Lab’s Inclusion Blueprint as we strategize actions to propel our firm forward.”
