Utility Dive spoke with partner Neeraj Arora about how the supply chain constraints are expected to affect the energy storage industry. As the struggle to secure raw materials has delayed projects and increased prices, developers who had expected the opposite and bid lower because of that are finding themselves “completely out of the money in terms of their economics,” Neeraj says. He continued, stating, “What we’ve really started to see from the utilities is kind of a flight towards quality developers and, in some cases, an increase in the amount of collateral that they’re requiring from the developers.”
