Singapore’s Plans to Rein in Stablecoins will Weed Out Weak Players, IFLR

Partner Wai Ming Yap and senior associate Gina Ng spoke to IFLR about the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s consultation on its regulatory approach to stablecoin-related issuance and intermediation.

“The proposed requirements for stablecoin issuers are likely to result in only bigger crypto players with strong financials, such as banks which will not be subject to additional reserve requirements, being able to enter the market,” said Wai Ming.
