NEW YORK, July 12, 2023: Morgan Lewis’s commitment to providing pro bono legal services has again earned the firm high rankings in The American Lawyer’s 2023 Pro Bono Scorecard, an annual survey of pro bono efforts at major US law firms.
The firm topped the Breadth of Commitment category, ranking above 122 law firms whose US-based lawyers contributed an average of more than 20 hours of pro bono service. Morgan Lewis also secured the #12 spot in the survey’s national rankings and maintained the #3 spot in the survey’s international rankings of US firms.
Every year since 2018, 100% of the firm’s nearly 2,000 lawyers around the globe have met its Pro Bono Challenge to contribute 20 or more hours to pro bono service annually. Morgan Lewis’s primary pro bono focus is on helping economically disadvantaged individuals and families as well as nonprofit and nongovernmental groups that serve vulnerable populations. This work, which occurs throughout the year at Morgan Lewis, includes the firm’s annual Community Impact Week, where lawyers and professional staff participate in a series of events—including legal clinics and trainings, panel discussions, charity drives, and more—across the firm’s offices in North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
