NEW YORK, August 9, 2023: Morgan Lewis has been named Litigation Department of the Year for Labor and Employment by New York Law Journal as part of its 2023 New York Legal Awards.
Morgan Lewis’s labor and employment practitioners help employers around the world navigate the constantly changing landscape of global, US, state, and local laws and regulations that govern the workplace. The award recognizes the New York–based team’s success at litigating significant and financially threatening challenges facing employers.
The team’s successes over the last year included obtaining summary judgment for an airline in a putative class action brought by pilots serving in the military asserting claims under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, winning an arbitration award for a financial services employer facing compensation-related claims by a financial advisor, securing dismissal of an Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) putative class action filed against a healthcare provider, and securing the first decisions in the United States to dismiss claims that employers violated Title VII by denying religious accommodations exempting employees from vaccine mandates.
Morgan Lewis and other honorees will be celebrated at an awards dinner on October 5 in New York.
