Inside EPA quoted remarks by partner Duke McCall during a public webinar held by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on its plan to introduce new rules for used drum management and reconditioning. Speaking for the Reusable Industrial Packaging Association, Duke stated that a 2022 damage case report used as the basis for the proposed rulemaking “does not demonstrate a need for, or indeed even provide support for[,] regulatory action.”
“At best, it supports a conclusion that the agency should do more to promote compliance with the existing regulatory scheme, as EPA concluded more than 40 years ago when it first considered the same issues before the agency today.”
