FRANKFURT, December 18, 2023: Building on its long history in Frankfurt and following the March 2023 opening of its Munich office, Morgan Lewis will deepen its bench of private equity transaction practitioners by welcoming partners Dr. Hans “Peter” Leube and Marianne Nawroth. Resident in Frankfurt, both partners join from Bird & Bird, where Peter most recently served as co-head of the international private equity group and head of the German corporate practice. Peter and Marianne will continue to focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) involving private equity and infrastructure funds.

“The opening of our Munich office earlier this year was an exciting step in our commitment to Germany, and with this move we continue our momentum to serve our clients in this significant and important legal and business market in Europe,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Peter and Marianne, who have guided clients through numerous cross-border and complex transactions, will bring deep knowledge of both the German and European markets, and their addition demonstrates our commitment to this key region. Their focus also adds to our industry-first approach, specifically for the technology and telecommunications sectors.”

With more than 20 years’ experience, Peter has been recognized as a leading lawyer for transactions in the software and IT sectors as well for telecommunications-related investments, including investments in the fiber to the home (FTTH) market and in other digital infrastructure.

Marianne represents German and multinational private equity funds and strategic companies in German M&A transactions and cross-border deals with a focus on the telecommunications, healthtech, and software sectors and is recognized for her strong sector focus on data centers.

“Peter and Marianne’s respective focuses align well with our existing global private equity practice and provide many collaboration opportunities with a number of our other practices, such as fund formation,” said Steven Browne, leader of the firm’s global corporate and business transactions practice. “Overall, they will add strength to our deep bench with the capability to handle additional inbound engagements for our clients doing business in Germany and outbound work for German clients engaged in cross-border transactions.”

“With Peter and Marianne as new colleagues, we are further expanding and strengthening our Frankfurt platform to serve our clients doing business in Germany,” said Dr. Joachim Heine, managing partner of the firm’s Frankfurt office. “We are excited to soon welcome our new team members who bring strong ties to the business community.”
