Staying Compliant Amid a Wave of Proposed DOL Deregulation, HR Magazine

Partner Russell Bruch and of counsel Brandon Brigham were quoted in an HR Magazine article about deregulatory developments at the US Department of Labor (DOL).

Regarding the DOL’s expressed intention to revisit the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulation, Russell noted that “the final rule remains in effect for purposes of private litigation,” and “[c]ourts could revive prior interpretations.”

Brandon noted that “the DOL has framed OSHA’s 25 new proposals as ‘aggressive deregulatory efforts’ aimed at reducing burdens and stimulating job growth. Proposed changes include relaxing the General Duty Clause, softening chemical safety requirements, and scaling back medical and respiratory protections.”
