Colorado and Illinois to Become First States to Provide NICU Leave, International Employment Lawyer

Partner Stephanie Sweitzer was quoted in an International Employment Lawyer article discussing Illinois’s newly signed Neonatal Intensive Care Leave Act (NICLA), which guarantees unpaid leave for employees whose newborns require NICU care.

“This law introduces critical protections for working parents during an incredibly vulnerable time,” Stephanie said. “Employers should ensure managers are prepared to respond with empathy and guide employees to HR and support resources,” she added.
