“2026 will be the year of influencer scrutiny,” Rachel said. “Social media has emerged as a dominant force shaping consumer behavior in the United States. Beauty companies in particular are increasingly relying on social media as a key component of their advertising. … However, no successful marketing strategy is without potential pitfalls, as demonstrated by the growing number of consumer-driven class action lawsuits involving social media influencers and the adequacy of their disclosures—or lack thereof.”
