Court Denies EPA Bid to Drop Four PFAS Drinking Water Limits, Bloomberg Law
January 22, 2026Bloomberg Law cited partner Matthew Thurlow’s comments made during an Environmental Law Institute webinar in an article about a recent DC Circuit decision declining to vacate portions of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) rule regulating per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in drinking water, and the resulting implementation pressures facing water utilities as compliance deadlines approach.
Drawing on Matt’s comments during the webinar, the article noted that the court’s one-sentence rejection of the EPA’s vacatur motion means water utilities will have to start sampling their tap water by April to comply with deadlines in the current rule.
