OCC Acting Enforcement Director William Jauquet Joins Morgan Lewis in Washington
February 03, 2026WASHINGTON, DC, February 3, 2026: Morgan Lewis continues to expand its deep bench of former senior government officials, welcoming William Jauquet, former acting director of enforcement at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). Mr. Jauquet will join the firm’s financial regulatory and enforcement litigation and investment management practices, resident in Washington, DC.
"Will’s background reflects the caliber of senior government leadership our firm attracts. As regulatory scrutiny intensifies across the financial services sector, his supervisory and decision-making experience further strengthens our platform and our ability to support sophisticated regulatory and enforcement work on a global scale,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon.
Will has dedicated his career to public service. He spent more than a decade at the OCC serving in senior enforcement roles, most recently as acting director of enforcement, after beginning his career at the Internal Revenue Service as an economist. At the OCC, he led the largest investigation conducted by a federal banking agency, pursuing a multiyear investigation and litigation related to the sales practices of a large bank. He brings deep experience advising on bank regulatory examinations, bank service provider issues, supervisory and enforcement actions, and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance, including matters before federal banking agencies. His practice will focus on advising financial institutions to prepare for and respond to examinations and enforcement actions, while also providing broader regulatory counseling across financial services and investment management issues, including emerging technologies and digital assets.
“Having led enforcement at the OCC, Will brings a practical understanding of how regulators investigate, develop, and pursue high-stakes cases,” said Troy Brown, leader of the firm’s litigation practice. “That perspective is especially valuable for clients facing examinations and enforcement matters, particularly in complex BSA/AML and related compliance issues, where effective advocacy depends on anticipating regulatory judgement and strategy.”
Morgan Lewis continues to strategically expand its regulatory and enforcement capabilities through the addition of former senior government leaders, enhancing the firm’s ability to advise clients at the intersection of federal regulation, policy, and litigation. Will joins numerous colleagues, also from the financial regulatory space, including Allen Denson, former senior attorney at the OCC; Alice S. Hrdy, former principal deputy assistant director of the Office of Supervision Policy at the CFPB; Rob Schwartz, former general counsel of the CFTC; Randall Thomas, former special counsel at the IRS’s Office of the Chief Counsel for Employee Benefits, Exempt Organizations, and Employment Taxes; and others from the NRC, SEC, FCC, FDA, DOJ, and FTC.
