Questions Still Surround CFIUS Fast-Track Process, Former Official Says, Export Compliance Daily

Export Compliance Daily quoted partner David Plotinsky in an article about the uncertainties surrounding the fast-track pilot program from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and broader timelines for implementing inbound and outbound investment review changes.

Drawing on David’s comments during a recent Morgan Lewis webinar, the article notes that the Treasury Department may not be ready to deploy the CFIUS program more widely until 2027.

“We’ve got an awful lot of clients of ours who are frequent flyers in front of CFIUS, and not a single one, to my knowledge, was invited to be a part of this pilot program. So they are out there, but it does seem like it’s a relatively small list and not a lot of transparency in terms of who is on it,” David said.
