Companies, Enforcers See AI, Kids Safety as Privacy Priorities, Bloomberg Law
March 31, 2026Bloomberg Law quoted partner Heather Egan in an article examining how regulators and companies are prioritizing AI governance, children’s privacy, and evolving compliance obligations, drawing from her remarks on a panel at the International Association of Privacy Professionals conference in Washington, DC.
Among the trends discussed during the conference, the article highlights the increasing regulatory scrutiny across AI deployment and digital advertising, particularly as state laws grow more complex and enforcement intensifies.
“The riskiest area would be California because in addition to being a two-party consent state with privacy law, symmetry of choice and requiring respect of GPC, you have to have a ‘Do Not Sell’ link,” Heather said during her panel. “So your banner might look a little different or your website presentation might look a little different than what you might present to users who are coming from another jurisdiction.”
