Kaiser noted that employers should evaluate their work environments for heat-related risks, even in jurisdictions without specific heat standards, and develop flexible prevention programs that account for changing conditions. “A good heat program builds in flexibility to change things up when the likelihood of employees suffering heat illness increases,” Kaiser said.
