Jupiter's Descent, The Wire China

Partner Loyaan Egal spoke with The Wire China about the US government’s efforts to force Chinese technology company Suirui Group to divest from Jupiter Systems, a California-based supplier of command-and-control video walls to the US military.

Loyaan discussed the challenges of enforcing divestment after the US government identifies national security concerns in a previously undisclosed foreign investment, noting that companies are still entitled to due process.

“It shows the long and winding road that is the rule of law, even in the national security context,” he said. “When anything is the first, it’s usually not going to be the quickest.”
