Compliance Implications of the National Fraud Enforcement Division, Compliance Week

Partner Justin Weitz spoke with Compliance Week about the US Department of Justice’s newly established National Fraud Enforcement Division and questions surrounding its scope, resources, and enforcement authority.

Justin discussed the Fraud Division’s expected growth to approximately 500 attorneys as it focuses on areas including healthcare, trade, government procurement, and tax fraud.

“We’re all interested to see where this goes,” Justin said, “and whether the Fraud Division is resourced such that they’re going to be able to accomplish the goals that the administration is setting out for it.”
