Advocates for Change – Why We Need More Ladies Like These as the Law Profession’s New Deans, Washington Business Journal

Labor and employment partner Grace Speights and litigation partner Elizabeth "Lizzie" Baird, managing partners of our Washington, DC, office, appeared on the cover of the March 4 issue of the Washington Business Journal (WBJ) for a Q&A feature on the role of female leadership in local law firms.

In the article, Grace and Lizzie discuss their experience leading Morgan Lewis’ largest office and the importance of having more women in leadership roles. They share their thoughts on where they see women heading among the legal profession’s highest ranks and what the industry must do to develop more opportunities for women. The Q&A was featured along with WBJ’s annual list of the largest law firms in the metro DC area. Morgan Lewis ranked No. 5 on this year’s list, making it the largest local legal outpost to be led entirely by female partners.
