Since the introduction of the EU Settlement Scheme earlier this year, the EU Exit: ID Document Check app has only been compatible with Android devices. Applicants without an Android device have been required to send their original documents to the Home Office or borrow an Android device in order to submit an application to the EU Settlement Scheme.
The EU Exit: ID Document Check app is now available for use on iPhone models 7 and later. This will allow eligible applicants to the EU Settlement Scheme to verify their identity using the app on an iPhone.
Applicants should note that they will need to have the most up-to-date software on their iPhones in order to access the EU Exit: ID Document Check app.
Applicants without a biometric passport and non-European Economic Area (EEA) family members of EEA nationals without a biometric document will not be able to use the app to verify their identity. They will still need to submit their physical documents to the Home Office by post or schedule an in-person appointment.
