The Shareholder Rights and Activism Review: Singapore, The Law Reviews

Partner Bernard Lui authored an article for The Law Reviews about the important role shareholders play in preserving balance in the corporate governance of a company. He explains that even minority shareholders have legitimate interests in the governance of a company and a right to hold the board accountable. 

Substantial shareholders or management, or both, have historically been able to push through agendas without much shareholder resistance in Singapore, but this is changing: Singapore, like elsewhere in the world, is witnessing growing shareholder activism.
