September 28, 2026Partner Philipp Schäuble spoke with Markt und Mittelstand about the EU Pay Transparency Directive and the steps German employers should consider as they await national implementing legislation. Philipp noted that employees are increasingly seeking information about pay structures and challenging disparities in court.
Philipp advised companies to review their compensation systems and address unexplained gender pay gaps. “Where there are significant pay gaps between the genders for identical work that cannot be justified by objective criteria, employers should use the remaining time to correct individual and structural pay disparities.”
