The news of partner Fred Block’s arrival was featured in The National Law Journal. Fred, who joins the firm from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), will focus his private practice on client matters that are adverse to the SEC—such as enforcement actions and investigations—and on matters that don’t yet involve regulators, e.g., internal investigations and early-stage counseling with clients on the SEC’s approach to enforcement.
“As someone at the SEC, I always thought highly of Morgan Lewis, who did good quality legal work in front of us,” Block said in an interview Wednesday.
“I wanted to go somewhere where I could leverage my experience at the SEC and work with great people. … The firm has also made some hires in the broader government practice group, so I think it’s an exciting time to be joining the firm.”
