Philip S. Sarid
Phil Sarid focuses his practice in the areas of securitization and structured finance. Phil represents investment funds, investment banking firms, financial institutions, and operating companies acting as an issuer, initial purchaser, borrower, or lender in a wide range of transactions, including issuances of residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and asset-backed securities (ABS), as well as acquisitions and financings of various types of assets, in particular residential mortgage loans, home equity lines of credit (HELOC), residential transitional loans (RTL), unsecured consumer loans, home improvement loans, retail installment contracts, and solar loans.
Phil advises clients on regulatory matters, including those related to the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and related rules and regulations (such as the US risk retention rules).
Phil is the author of “101 Questions I Wish I Asked (About Securitization),” a treatise (in the form of a Q&A) on introductory securitization concepts.
