FCC Getting New Round of Broadcast Ownership Input, Cablefax

Partner Danielle Burt was quoted in a Cablefax article examining the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC’s) ongoing quadrennial review of broadcast ownership rules and the broader policy debate surrounding potential changes to the national ownership cap.

Danielle highlighted that the discussion is unfolding not only at the FCC, but also on Capitol Hill, underscoring the possibility that legislative action could shape the outcome alongside the agency’s review. 

“Not only do you have some different voices in the market [speaking] about what could happen with respect to this ownership cap, but there’s been rumblings in Congress as well,” Danielle said. “So there’s always the possibility that somebody introduces some legislation, or that there are some other efforts that are undertaken outside of the FCC.”
