States Move Cautiously to Rein in Booming Data Center Buildout, Bloomberg Law

Partner Arjun Ramadevanahalli was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article examining how states are balancing efforts to attract data center investment with new proposals aimed at managing the sector’s growing energy demands and community impacts.

Arjun noted that while some states are considering new guardrails around data center development, litigation over such policies may not be the most effective path for developers.

“Putting to the side the legal merits of a particular challenge to a law or like an order from a governor, I think there’s also a fundamental question of whether they even want to do that,” Arjun said. “Speed to power has been the priority here.”
