Ben Hand represents clients in complex commercial litigation and crisis management, focusing on mass and toxic tort, multidistrict, product liability, environmental, fraud, unfair business practices, and commercial litigation in federal and state courts across the country. Ben’s product liability and mass tort practice includes representing and counseling clients across multiple regulated industries from pre-litigation investigations through trial, including clients in the pharmaceutical, technology, oil and gas, and chemical industries.
Ben has been at the forefront of some of the most high-profile litigation in the country, including the Aliso Canyon gas leak, national opioid litigation, CPAP multidistrict litigation (MDL), and California silica coordinated proceedings. He has a proven ability to manage, motivate, and lead teams in high-pressure and complex matters. Recently, Ben served as trial counsel for one of the world’s largest chemical companies and obtained a favorable settlement at the end of the plaintiffs’ case-in-chief in the Superior Court of Los Angeles County. Ben managed the case up to trial and was critical in developing and implementing case and trial strategy.
Ben advises clients on settlement discussions, negotiating with government and regulatory agencies, and pre-litigation investigations.
