Edward J. L. Southgate

Edward J.L. (Jay) Southgate represents issuers and underwriters in private placements of residential mortgage- and asset-backed securities. Jay also advises financial institutions in negotiating flow purchase and servicing arrangements with fintech platform originators and the warehouse financing of numerous products, including pools of consumer and solar loans, credit card receivables, and equipment lease receivables.

Jay returns to Morgan Lewis after working in the global finance practice of another international law firm. Prior to entering private practice, Jay worked in the investment management division of Goldman Sachs, with an emphasis on alternative capital markets and regulatory compliance issues.
