Mark L. Opitz
Mark L. Opitz is a recognized leader in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity, advising private equity sponsors, venture and growth equity funds, public and private companies, and high-growth startups on their most important transactions. As leader of the corporate and business transactions practice and Managing Partner of the Pittsburgh office, Mark guides clients through their most complex and high-stakes deals.
Mark has led transactions ranging from middle-market strategic acquisitions to billion-dollar private equity buyouts, recapitalizations, divestitures, and joint ventures. He regularly advises sponsors, lead investors, and other institutional investors in connection with continuation fund transactions, co-investments, and strategic partnerships. His experience spans multiple industries, including facility and residential services, aerospace and defense, fintech, healthcare, consumer products, manufacturing, and technology.
In addition to his private equity and corporate work, Mark is deeply engaged with startups and emerging growth companies, counseling founders and management teams on formation, capital raising, governance, strategic partnerships, and exit planning. He is active in the regional innovation ecosystem through his work with the Pittsburgh Technology Council, the Pittsburgh Venture Capital Association, and his involvement in coaching and judging at entrepreneur and investor events.
