Alison (Siyu) Appleby

Alison focuses her practice on US federal income tax issues. She advises investment fund sponsors on the formation and taxation of investment vehicles, including private equity funds, real estate funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), opportunity zone funds, hedge funds, and other alternative investment vehicles. She also counsels tax-exempt investors, non-US investors, sovereign wealth funds, and other institutional investors on their US and cross-border investments. Alison represents clients in taxable and tax-free mergers and acquisitions, leveraged and structured finance transactions, and other transactional matters.
