In addition to patent preparation and prosecution, Byungcheol “Byung” Kwak, Ph.D., assists with opinion work, litigation, patent research, and third-party intellectual property rights. Before joining Morgan Lewis, Byung was a patent engineering specialist involved in patent research, drafting, prosecution, and due diligence at the DEKA Research & Development Corporation in New Hampshire. He also was a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Evaluation and Planning (KIITEP).
At KIITEP, Byung did technology analyses, assessments, technology transfers, and assessment of damages of patent in the field of mechanical engineering and automation for the national research projects of the Korea Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy.
Before entering the field of intellectual property, Byung was a joint researcher with the Korea Institute of Machinery and Metals, where he participated in the national project of the Korea Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy.
