Brandon P. Macken
Brandon P. Macken represents employers in complex employment litigation and advises companies on workforce-related matters. Brandon’s practice includes defending employers in single-plaintiff and multi-plaintiff litigation, wage and hour class actions, representative actions under California's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA), and high-stakes employment disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Brandon's counseling practice includes advising employers on hiring, discipline, employee separations, workplace investigations, wage and hour compliance, and the development of employment policies and handbooks.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Brandon practiced at another large law firm, where he defended employers in employment litigation and advised clients on day-to-day workplace issues. Earlier in his career, he counseled emerging growth companies on corporate governance, executive compensation, securities compliance, and other business matters. That experience provides Brandon with a practical understanding of the business considerations that often drive employment decisions.
During law school, Brandon served as a judicial extern to the Arizona Supreme Court and was an associate editor of the Arizona State Law Journal. Brandon also worked with several sports agencies, where he drafted employment, endorsement, and marketing agreements for professional athletes and coaches.
Brandon draws on his litigation, counseling, and corporate experience to help employers navigate workplace disputes and make strategic employment decisions.
