Xiaoqian (Charlotte) Li, Ph.D., focuses her practice on patent prosecution, prior art search, patentability analysis, freedom to operate review, and patent landscape investigation in the fields of biotechnology and life sciences. With her academic background in chemical and biomolecular engineering and her industry experience in cancer immunotherapy and synthetic biology, Charlotte is able to serve the needs for a broad range of clients in the fields of immunology, pharmaceuticals, gene and cell therapy, diagnostic, medical device, biomaterials, and renewable chemicals.
Prior to entering patent law, Charlotte worked as a scientist on antibody engineering and chimeric antigen receptor engineering at a cancer immunotherapy company. She also worked as a scientist on genetically engineering of microbial metabolic pathways in a synthetic biology startup company. During her Ph.D. study, Charlotte was working on the design and synthesis of artificial cellular pathways in Cyanobacteria for a higher photosynthetic carbon fixation rate.
