Christie Matthaei is an intellectual property (IP) litigator who represents clients in all phases of patent litigation, from pre-suit investigations through appeals to the Federal Circuit. She has also advised clients in proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) including successfully invalidating numerous patents in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings. A former chemical engineer at a US national laboratory, Christie’s technical experience informs her capability to advise clients and companies on IP matters.
Before joining Morgan Lewis, Christie was a partner at a national IP law firm, where she served as chair of the firm’s recruiting committee.
In law school, Christie was a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal and interned for the White House, working in the Office of Science and Technology Policy.
