Claire Bispo
Claire Bispo focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation for clients across a range of technological fields. She leverages a technical background in biomolecular engineering, experience with software-integrated bioproduction systems and quality and regulatory work, and prior patent prosecution experience to support patent and other intellectual property disputes. Claire brings a detail-oriented and analytical approach to complex legal and technical issues and works closely with partners and clients to develop effective litigation strategies.
While in law school, Claire worked in UC Law’s start-up legal garage clinic under the supervision of practicing attorneys to advise start-up clients on freedom-to-operate and patent prosecution matters. She also worked as a contract manager, providing legal support to fast-moving, venture backed companies across cleantech, manufacturing, Software as a Service (SaaS), and high-tech hardware.
Claire served as the president of the Armenian Law Student Association and the external vice-president of the Tech Law Society. She was also member of the flagship UC Law Journal, working as a staff editor then as a senior production editor.
Claire also had the opportunity to spend a semester of law school studying in Tokyo, Japan in Hitotsubashi University’s global business law program.
Before law school, Claire worked as a validation engineer for Thermo Fisher Scientific in their bioproduction business unit, where she qualified software-integrated single-use bioprocess systems for multinational customers.
Claire completed her senior capstone at UC Santa Cruz as a member of UCSC’s iGEM team. The team conceptualized and executed a synthetic biology project “PoPPY” aimed at creating a localized, sustainable contraceptive grown in a GRAS-strain of yeast.
