Grigory Marinichev represents international lenders and borrowers in structured finance, syndicated lending, debt restructuring transactions, and insolvency issues. Grigory advises clients in the metals, mining, telecommunications, oil and gas, and power generation industries on a range of financial transactions - from syndicated and bilateral credit facilities, refinancing, and bond issues, to export financing, loans, and loan restructurings. He also represents and advises project sponsors, export credit agencies, and multilateral financial institutions.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Grigory was a partner and head of the Russian banking and finance practice of another international law firm, resident in Moscow.
Acting for an international investment group on a methanol plant construction project in Volgograd in partnership with a Russian state direct investments fund. The project contemplates both shareholders’ and lenders’ syndicated finance in the total amount exceeding US$ 800 million, as well as long-term methanol supply contract with a Japanese conglomerate
Acting for JSC Russian Copper Company and its Kazakh affiliate TOO Aktyubinskaya Mednaya Kompaniya on the financing of Tominskiy Processing Plant by Gazprombank (Joint-Stock Company) in the amount of RUB 54,421,419,000. The financing was secured by mortgages, share and bank account pledges as well as RCC’s group and bank guarantees
Acting for JSC Russian Copper Company and its group companies on the financing of Mikheevskiy Processing Plant by Gazprombank (Joint-Stock Company). Gazprombank (Joint-Stock Company) provided several facilities in RUB, EUR and US$ in the total amount of more than US$ 500,000,000. The financing was secured by mortgages, share and bank account pledges as well as RCC’s group and bank guarantees
Acting for Norilsk Nickel on a EUR 278 million export financing arranged by an international syndicate, including DZ Bank, ING Bank, Crédit Agricole CIB, and Bayerische Landesbank, to finance the purchase of four arctic container vessels with the support of Hermes (named "Deal of the Year" by Trade Finance magazine)
