Utilizing his technical background in electrical engineering, Joaquin supports technology companies in drafting and prosecuting patent applications across various technology areas, including electrical-, software-, and mechanical-based applications. Joaquin also has experience with USPTO post-grant proceedings, as well as freedom-to-operate, patent validity, and non-infringement opinions.
Prior to his law career, Joaquin was an engineer for technology companies ranging from startups to more established companies, such as Symantec and Raytheon, where he worked primarily as a firmware engineer. As an engineer, Joaquin gained experience in hardware and software design and development in various technology areas, including wired and wireless communication systems, network security systems, defense systems, navigation systems, video processing systems, and home electronics.
