Lisa Valentovish represents aircraft owners, financial institutions, lessors, and investors in connection with their aircraft investments and operations, including complex debt restructurings and international insolvency matters.
Prior to entering the legal field, Lisa was interested in municipal government and served on numerous local boards and commissions, including the city of New Haven’s Board of Aldermen in Connecticut.
Before joining Morgan Lewis she was a partner in the financial services practice of another international law firm.
Represented the lead investor in the acquisition and securitization of a portfolio of used aircraft on lease to international airlines (Global Transport Finance 2016 Aircraft Finance ABS Deal of the Year – North America)
Advised various parties in connection with Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificates (EETC), Pass Through Trust Certificates (PTC), and Equipment Trust Certificate (ETC) aircraft financing transactions
Represented the largest creditor in the civil rehabilitation proceeding of Japanese low-cost carrier Skymark Airlines including an alternate plan of rehabilitation
Advised various parties in connection with operations under Federal Aviation Regulations Parts 91, 107, 135, 137, and 121
Represented various parties in connection with the purchase, sale, financing and lease of all types of aircraft, including air carrier transport and business jets
Advised corporate clients in connection with establishment and operation of corporate flight departments and retention of aircraft managers
Represented investors in connection with the transfer of owner participant interests in aircraft trusts
Advised aircraft owners and operators with respect to citizenship requirements for aircraft registered on the US registry and holders of operator certificates
Represented aircraft lessors and lenders in connection with the registration, deregistration, lease, and repossession of aircraft in numerous jurisdictions outside of the United States
Represented vendors of aircraft parts in connection with the purchase and sale of spare parts and consignment arrangements
Represented a group of equipment trust certificate holders in connection with the restructuring of leveraged leases in the American Airlines bankruptcy proceeding
Represented more than 60 institutions as members of the Ad Hoc Committee of Senior Secured Creditors in Delta Air Lines bankruptcy
