Matthew De Cataldo advises international and local clients on cross-border and domestic M&A, private equity, venture capital, and capital markets transactions. He works across a range of industries, with a particular focus on the technology, financial services, and life sciences sectors. Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Matthew worked in the London office of another leading international law firm. He has also undertaken client secondments, including with Amazon.
- Accenture UK on its acquisition of Altius Consulting, a UK based business specialising in data performance management and artificial intelligence solutions
- AbbVie (NYSE:ABBV) on the sale of its UK biomanufacturing plant to Pharmaron for USD118.7 million
- Block, Inc. (formerly Square, Inc.) (NYSE: SQ) on its acquisition of digital payments fintech Clearpay / Afterpay for USD29 billion
- Platinum Equity on various matters, including:
- its sale of UK digital marketing and directory services provider, Sensis, to software-as-a-service company Thryv (NASDAQ: THRY) for USD200 million;
- its acquisition of the Staples business in Australia and New Zealand from Staples Inc. (NASDAQ: SPLS); and
- its acquisition of the OfficeMax business in Australia and New Zealand from Office Depot (NASDAQ:ODP)
- A foreign state-owned pension fund on its seed investment in an agri-tech start up business
- An institutional investment fund on its strategic hybrid equity/debt investment in UK media company Iconic Labs (LSE:ICON).
- Gresham Private Equity on its exit from Australian mining company Barminco Holdings in connection with the AUD271.5 million sale to Ausdrill (ASX:ASL)
- Elanor Investors (ASX:ENN) on its strategic alliance with a Singaporean real-estate manager
- Mantra Group (ASX:MTR) on its AUD1.2 billion scheme of arrangement under which AccorHotels acquired all of the shares in Mantra Group
- Litigation Capital Management (AIM:LIT), a litigation funding business, on its migration from the ASX to the AIM sub-market of the London Stock Exchange
- Home Consortium (ASX:HMC), an internally managed property development group, on its AUD325 million IPO and ASX-listing, being the largest IPO in Australia of 2019
- Pyrolyx (ASX:PLX), a German clean carbon recycling company, on its IPO and ASX-listing, being the first German company to list on the ASX (AUD108 million market cap on listing)
- PINCHme (ASX:PIN), a Delaware corporation operating a digital promotions platform, on its pre-IPO fundraising, IPO and ASX listing (market capitalisation of AUD58.6 million on listing)
