Co-leader of Morgan Lewis’s New York litigation practice, Michael S. Kraut represents clients in complex securities and commercial litigation, and government enforcement actions. He represents banks, trust companies, registered investment advisers, hedge funds, broker-dealers, public issuers, and their officers and directors in civil litigation; and in investigations by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), self-regulatory organizations, and state securities regulators. He also counsels clients on sensitive internal investigations and a range of regulatory and compliance issues.
Michael defends clients in class actions involving US federal securities laws, disputes related to alleged securities fraud, litigation involving securitization issues, and breach of contract and fiduciary duties claims. He lectures and publishes frequently on a variety of litigation topics, including disputes involving indenture trustees, securitization, and securities litigation and enforcement issues.
