Nicholas R. Stango
Nicholas R. Stango focuses his practice on aviation finance. Nick advises clients on a variety of aviation transactions that include the purchase, sale, and lease of both aircraft and aircraft engines. Nick has represented clients in transactions with air carriers in the United States and throughout the world, including in Canada, Colombia, Cyprus, England, Ethiopia, France, Ireland, Jordan, Malaysia, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Thailand, and Turkey. Nick has a strong background in the aerospace industry with prior experience as an aerospace engineer and as a patent attorney preparing and prosecuting aerospace patent applications.
Upon graduating, Nick spent several years working as an aerospace engineer for the Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation prior to entering the legal field. While at Sikorsky, Nick had the opportunity to work on many different helicopters, including the S-92, S-76, CH-148, Black Hawk, and SB>1 Defiant. Upon graduating law school, Nick worked as a patent attorney preparing and prosecuting patent applications for Fortune 500 companies, including large US-based aerospace companies. Nick’s aerospace background allows him to bring real world experience to his practice.

- Represented an investor in the separate sales of one Airbus A-320 airframe and one Airbus A-330 airframe to different US-based buyers
- Represented an investor in the separate sales of multiple CFM International model CFM56 aircraft engines to different US-based buyers
- Represented an investor in the sale of a Rolls-Royce model RB211 Trent 892-17 aircraft engine to a US-based aircraft maintenance company
- Represented an investor in the sale of an IAE model V2527-A5 aircraft engine to a US-based aerospace manufacturer
- Represented an investor in six separate purchase transactions with aviation leasing company for two Airbus A-320 aircraft currently on lease with major Norwegian carrier, two Airbus A-320 aircraft currently on lease with UK carrier, and two Airbus A-320 aircraft currently on lease with Colombian carrier
- Represented an investor in the separate aircraft leases of one Airbus model A330 aircraft to a Portuguese carrier, two Airbus model A330 aircraft to a Spanish carrier, and one Airbus model A320 aircraft to a Malaysian carrier
- Represented an investor in the separate lease extensions of five Airbus model A319 aircraft to a major US carrier, which included the loan extension for one of the five aircraft
- Represented an investor in six separate lease transactions of IAE models V2527-A5, V2524-A5, and V2533-A5 aircraft engines to a major Jordanian carrier
- Represented an investor in four separate lease transactions of two GE Aviation model GE90-115 propulsors and two GE Aviation model GE90-115 fan case modules to a major French carrier
- Represented an investor in the separate leases of CFM International model CFM56 aircraft engines to a major US carrier, a major Canadian carrier, a Cyprus carrier, a Romanian carrier, and an Ethiopian carrier
