Shannon L.C. Ammon is an experienced litigator who represents employers in an array of complex and sensitive disputes. She defends clients at trial and in all phases of employment litigation, including noncompete and trade secrets litigation before federal and state courts and arbitral forums. Shannon proactively helps companies avoid and, when necessary, respond to crisis situations. She has experience investigating workplace misconduct, including allegations of sexual harassment, and regularly advises employers on appropriate responses.
Shannon’s broad litigation experience includes managing fact discovery, taking and defending depositions, appearing at evidentiary hearings, and drafting motions and briefs, including dispositive motions. She also has jury trial experience, including crafting trial strategy, preparing witnesses, and drafting and opposing pre- and post-trial motions, and other submissions. Shannon has similar litigation experience before JAMS, the American Arbitration Association, and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Shannon’s experience also encompasses appeals having represented clients before the US Courts of Appeals for the Second and Third Circuits and Pennsylvania appellate courts.
In addition to her litigation and investigation practice, Shannon regularly counsels employers on risk management, litigation prevention, workplace harassment policies, and other employment law issues.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Shannon clerked for Judge Dolores K. Sloviter and Judge Ivan D. Davis. Shannon previously litigated complex commercial disputes and appellate matters in the litigation department of a national law firm.
Shannon has a strong commitment to pro bono work and previously served as the vice chair of the Philadelphia office Pro Bono Committee. She represents youth in connection with the Support Center for Child Advocates, and has also represented non-profit organizations in filing amicus briefs before the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and US Supreme Court. In 2018, Shannon was awarded the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania’s Pro Bono Publico Award for the Court of Common Pleas – Family Division, Juvenile. The award recognizes the importance of lawyers from around the city who provide pro bono legal services and the role those services play in ensuring access and justice for the citizens of Philadelphia.
