Practising Law Institute’s Environmental Regulation in Practice 2024: New Challenges and Controversies

Partners Duke McCall and Stephen Fitzgerald will speak at Practising Law Institute’s (PLI’s) Environmental Regulation in Practice 2024: New Challenges and Controversies program.

Partner Duke McCall, who is the co-host for the program, will present an Environmental Litigation Update, covering civil environmental litigation trends including the import of the Loper Bright decision, post-Sackett litigation, plastics litigation, ESG litigation, greenwashing litigation involving products, and environmental justice litigation.

Partner Stephen Fitzgerald will participate in the panel The Environmental Disaster – Legal Issues and Challenges. The session will delve into legal actions arising from compromised environmental conditions including discussions on parallel civil, criminal, legislative, and tort proceedings, managing evidence preservation and spoliation, community and media communications, preparation in working with experts, reviewing reserve setting and public disclosures, assessing shareholder derivative and shareholder fraud actions, and learning about due diligence and preventing future disasters.
