One of the most exciting and daunting tasks for entrepreneurs is hiring and managing their team. With limited resources and time, prioritizing who and what roles to hire for are company building or breaking decisions. This panel will focus on how to hire, what roles are most important, how to get the best talent with limited resources, what to do when employees don’t work out, how to structure compensation for aligned goals, the importance of non-disclosure/non-compete agreements, and offering (or not) equity compensation. Panelists will range from experts in HR to entrepreneurs with real life experience (e.g. huge mistakes, great ideas).

Entrepreneurs can be paralyzed by fear of someone stealing their ideas, secrets, and plans. This panel will be focused on strategies for protecting key intellectual property. When, how and if to file for patent protection and what to do (or not) in the meantime will be a central part of the conversation. The panel will also discuss questions like: What should you share with VCs or potential hires? How can you get a URL that is already taken? When to get legal protection, if you need it, if you violated it, and what to do if someone steals a trade secret. Panelists will be experts and entrepreneurs with stories to share.
