PLI Class Action Litigation 2025: Litigation Strategies and Legal Developments

Partner Stacey Anne Mahoney will be speaking on the panel Class Action Certification during the Practicing Law Institute’s Class Action Litigation 2025: Litigation Strategies and Legal Developments conference. The panel will cover the ethical considerations often present in class action cases.
Practicing Law Institute is a nonprofit organization that provides continuing legal and professional education for lawyers and allied professionals. The organization offers a wide range of programs, publications, and resources developed and presented by legal experts to help keep professionals informed and up to date with the most recent legal developments.
Stacey’s panel will take place at 9:15 am. After attending, participants will be able to:
- Comply with the ethical issues related to the solicitation of class members
- Identify who plaintiffs’ counsel represents for purposes of the no-contact rule
- Manage ethical considerations regarding the use of informal discovery tools, including investigators, social media, and the internet
- Prioritize ethical issues related to funding expenses
- Avoid conflicts of interest in class representation
- Understand ethical issues relating to cooperation agreements among litigants—defense and plaintiffs’ sides
- Recognize ethical obligations when conducting settlement negotiations
