ABA’s Qui Tam & False Claims Act and Healthcare Fraud Institute

Wednesday, May 27, 2026 - Thursday, May 28, 2026

Partner Douglas Baruch will speak at ABA’s Qui Tam & False Claims Act and Healthcare Fraud Institute on the panel Procurement Fraud Without Fraud? The FCA’s Evolving Role in Government Contracting. The conference offers a strong educational experience for a broad range of professionals, with diverse participants and panelists, and provides valuable opportunities to connect, share insights, and engage in a collaborative, non-adversarial setting. Day 1 will cover key False Claims Act (FCA) issues, including legal updates, trials, settlements, damages, and healthcare developments, along with in-house and state enforcement perspectives. Day 2 will begin with an ethics panel, followed by two tracks: one focused on deeper healthcare enforcement topics, and the other on FCA practice outside of healthcare.

Doug and his fellow panelists will examine how the current administration has elevated procurement fraud as a key enforcement priority, marked by new task forces, a rise in qui tam filings, and increased focus on areas such as cybersecurity, trade, small-business fraud, and civil rights compliance. The discussion will address what this means for government contractors, including evolving enforcement trends, shifting contractual risks, the growing role of AI, and the upcoming constitutional challenge in Zafirov. Doug’s panel is on May 28 from 9:30–10:30 am ET.
