Evening in Energy – Power Under Pressure: California’s Energy Transition

Thursday, May 21, 2026
05:30 PM - 07:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time

Please join us for our next Evening in Energy program, where we will explore the policy, regulatory, and market dynamics shaping California’s energy future and how evolving state and federal priorities are influencing the path forward. We are pleased to host this event in collaboration with the Japan America Society of Southern California.

The program will feature a fireside chat with California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Commissioner Christine Harada, who will share perspectives on California’s energy priorities, regulatory direction, and the opportunities and challenges facing market participants during a period of significant change. We will also hold a panel discussion to hear cross-industry perspectives on the practical realities of California’s energy transition, including reliability, infrastructure investment, and increasing demand on the grid.

Space is limited. A reception will follow the discussion.

  • Ryan Harty | Assistant Vice President, Division Lead, Advanced Planning, American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
  • Fernando Valero | Executive Director of Strategic Issues, Los Angeles Department of Water and Power
