LEPG partner Michael Puma will present on key issues and emerging trends in federal and state law wage/hour and wage payment litigation and compliance. The presentation will include a discussion of properly classifying employees as exempt and non-exempt from overtime, correctly calculating hours worked (including for remote workers that present unique issues) and determining the regular and overtime rates of pay, limiting exposure to claims that contractors are misclassified and actually are employees, complying with meal and rest periods requirements, new developments in state-specific wage/hour laws, and tools for limiting exposure such as arbitration agreements with class and collective action waivers.
