Funds From New Filings to Go Live, With or Without SEC Scrutiny, Ignites

Partner John McGuire is quoted in an Ignites article examining how the federal government shutdown may affect new fund launches. The article notes that some market participants see the lapse in judgment by the SEC as a window for products to proceed without typical oversight. John emphasized, however, “I would not call it a loophole. Anyone who files now, during the shutdown, can expect comments when the SEC gets back to work, and if they have to make changes then, that can be expensive [to reprint disclosures].”
