LONDON, November 30, 2023: Morgan Lewis partner Tayne Rankine was honored as the Private Practice Rising Star at Law.com International’s 2023 British Legal Awards, held November 29 in London. The Rising Star Award is given to one lawyer in private practice and one lawyer in-house who have demonstrated troubleshooting and legal skills, client satisfaction, leadership, strategic vision, and contributions to the wider community.
Tayne focuses her practice on the private investment funds industry, including fund formation, separate accounts, secondaries, and co-investments. She provides legal and transactional advice to leading international fund managers on the structuring, formation, and launch of commingled funds and on more bespoke discretionary and nondiscretionary investment management arrangements. Tayne additionally has a strong pro bono practice, is active in several firm committees, and serves as a mentor to junior associates.
Law.com International’s annual British Legal Awards recognize top in-house and private practice lawyers and firms within the UK legal community across several categories. Morgan Lewis was a finalist for International Law Firm of the Year for its successful representation of clients, innovation, and strategic vision; Competition/Regulatory Team of the Year for advising a US government contractor in an investigation by the UK Competition and Markets Authority; and Litigation, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Team of the Year for advising 18 aircraft leasing companies with aircraft and jet engines stranded in Russia on leasing agreements and breaches of their terms.
