The Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law covered the law school’s annual A.A. Sommer, Jr. Lecture on Corporate, Securities and Financial Law in an article highlighting our firm, which served as a co-host. This year’s lecture featured a conversation with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, who was interviewed by Morgan Lewis partner Ben Indek and introduced by partner Susan Resley.
During the discussion, Ben asked the commissioner for her thoughts on the role of regulation in financial markets and areas on which the SEC may potentially focus in the future. Among other areas, she talked about what she refers to as the “secret law” problem, which developed as a result of private firms soliciting guidance from SEC staff.
